I have Doom 3 BFG install on my computer and have Doom 3 giude book with cheats in it. It tells me in order to do the cheat press Ctrl+Alt+~ but in order to get '~' you have to press shift to do it. I've tryed both ways with no console drop down window. I have no idea of why and why hasn't this been talk about on the forums? Can some one help me?

That only applies to the original Doom 3. Doom 3 BFG is a remade version of Doom 3 and the console is disabled by default in it.
To enable the console in Doom 3 BFG, do the following:
Create a shortcut in Windows to your Doom 3 BFG executable file (I like to keep the shortcut in the same directory as the original executable, but you can really put it anywhere you want) and add the following to the end:
+seta com_allowconsole 1
So, the new shortcut will have this command line:
'Doom 3 BFGDoom3BFG.exe' +seta com_allowconsole 1
I also like to increase the fov with command line command
+set g_fov 90
Then, you can enable the console in game. Here are some other Console Codes
god – God mode
noclip – No clipping mmode
editor – Opens level editor (Crash Warning!)
give all – Gives all weapons, full ammo, full health and armor
give weapon_ – Gives a weapon; shotgun, chaingun, chainsaw, flashlight, machinegun, pistol, plasmagun, rocketlauncher, bfg
notarget – AI ignores the player
give berserk – Gives Berserk
give health – Full health
give pda – Give all PDAs and video disks found in the current level
pm_thirdperson 1 – Activates third-person mode, type “0″ to replace “1″ to turn off.
killMonsters – Kills all monsters on the current level
kill: Suicide
pm_walkspeed ### – Changes player walk speed
pm_runspeed ### – Changes player run speed
pm_crouchspeed ### – Changes player crouch speed
pm_jumpheight ### – Changes player jump height
pm_noclipspeed ### – Changes noclip mode movement speed
clearLights – Removs all lights
testLight – Generate new light

Hello,
I have recently got myself a copy of Doom 3. I've ran the setup and entered the product key which was all successful. (I own he disk variant). Then when I launch it the first menu loads. https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B8P-aXDgk9zfbWlXQU1Tdl8zZDA/view?usp=sharing (The one in the picture) But then I click play and nothing happens. I've ran it in compatibility modes for all windows that I can but they did nothing. I've also tried launching the .exe file its self but that didn't work so I'm not sure what to do. I will try it on my other higher spec gaming PC soon but for now I will use my laptop. The specs are as follows;
Intel Celeron N2840 2.16GHz CPU
4G RAM
Intel HD Graphics
Windows 10 OS
I definitely meet the requirements for Doom 3 but I am confused to why the game won't launch. So if somebody could tell me a way to make it launch it will be greatly appreciated.
