We ran for a week or so on the SignBlazer trial version, and thought it worked pretty well. Any ideas on why the old puct wont work with the cutter through the serial port with SignBlazer, though? Trying to keep a cool head here, but it’s getting tough.

We’ve been using our PCUT Ct for about 3 years now, finally decided 2 months ago that it was time to upgrade to a new computer. What do I d pls help. It used to be easy Many modern desktops do have a serial port but you may have to look on your motherboard and see if one is there.

I realize that the application is not running in Windows 10. We will help you.

I suggest you to install the Application in Compatibility mode and check if it helps.

This issue might have caused due to incompatibility issue. Install the application in compatibility mode. Compatibility mode runs the program using settings from a previous version of Windows.

Follow these steps to install the drivers in compatibility mode and check if that helps.

1. Find the application installer file location.

2. Right-click on the setup.exe file and click on ‘properties’.

3. Click on the ‘compatibility’ tab and check the box ‘Run this program in compatibility mode for’ and select operating system from the drop down menu and proceed with the installation.

4. Once this is done, restart the computer and check if the issue persists.

Because I searched for DAYS, I will add my comment. I had the same problem with my PCut CT1200 vinyl cutter, running through a COM port in Windows 7 fine, then disappeared when I upgraded to Windows 10.

I uninstalled the LXi VinylExpress software, and re-installed. I didn't use the driver on the CD with my old software, but had downloaded another copy so it was on my computer. I installed the downloaded driver in compatibility mode back to Windows 7, just as Sachin instructed, but wanted to add that my cutter didn't show up still, until I unplugged and re-plugged the USB from the cutter while it was on. As soon as I plugged the USB cable back in, the new COM port showed up in Device Manager, and finally I could run a test cut.
